l10n and i18n, with special emphasis on Indian languages and GNOME

Abstract
Translation is an essential comonents of software world. People using the software are from around the world, not only English-knowing people. So software needs to be localised to make it accessible to multitude of people. I am going to explain the basics of translation in software projects, I would also give specific importance to gnome translations (because that is what I translate for), and I would show how to translate apps for GNOME only, and also any software projects which follow the same paradigm as GNU gettext and PO files. I am also gonna show some sites and open source projects built around this, like Weblate. Then, I am gonna give specific importance to Indian languages in translation and problems faced by them. Also a particular problem of rendering Indian text in VTE-based terminals (eg gnome-terminal, console, etc). I am gonna show 1-2 examples of translations in Hindi language which I have done, would also show what GNOME hindi translation team does and how to join it. I may also share some unwritten rules and facts (the rules which I followed but are not that much documented but one gains through experience)

Expected Duration
Not measured, but it can go easily to 45 minutes (would tell after I create slides)

(I am a beginner and it would be my first talk, also whatever I would tell would be suitable for beginners as I would start from ground level)

Pre-requisite
Basic knowledge about running Linux based operating systems and know what a desktop environment is.

Preferred Time and mode
would be done through online mode as I can not reach the location physically, but I would be open to communicating to offline people through online means (through an arranged screen at physical location and camera/mic)

Previous Experience
I have organised quizzes in ILUGD weekly checkins, including Debian day and New Year Eve (though they have not been recorded), also have demonstrated very basic hobby projects of mine in check ins.
