Goals

  • We need to investigate and decide on the optimal DB and related configurations that meets our requirements for each of our environments.

Outcomes / tasks

  • Config should include backups.
  • Config should consider HA (high availability) and replication.
  • Config should consider disaster recovery.
  • Config should consider our deployment strategy, namely for production
  • Config should be within appropriate cost plans.
  • Write an ADR and either CLI or Terraform config with the findings.

Tasks

Additional Context & Resources

  • We've discussed up to this point just doing ZRS for backups
  • We've also discussed and have implemented up to this point doing a warm standby instance for production
