- Access all SCI for AI workshop transcripts from the 6-week workshop series
- Run targeted queries through transcripts using the policy brief questions identified during the meeting
- Extract relevant sections that address policymaker concerns and technical requirements
- Organize extracted content by theme and policy area for easy reference
2 Key Policy Questions to Query Against Transcripts
Technical Foundation Questions
- What is green software? How is it achievable? How do we incentivise it? What are the prerequisites to achieving it?
- What are the environmental costs of using AI-enabled software? What are the benefits?
- Common myths rerun the deployment of greener AI.
- How AI drives datacentre demand, and how it can be done more responsibly
- What are the impacts of general public utilization of AI-enabled software, vs. business uses? Should they be regulated differently? Or is this best addressed at the source level?
Policy Translation Questions
- Regulatory approaches for different types of AI usage (consumer vs. business)
- Transparency requirements for AI environmental impact reporting
- Technical standards that could be mandated or incentivized by policy
- Infrastructure considerations for sustainable AI deployment
Implementation Questions
- Actionable steps organizations can take to implement green AI practices
- Measurement and verification approaches for environmental claims
- Industry best practices that could inform policy recommendations
- Technical barriers and solutions for sustainable AI adoption
3. Content Organization and Synthesis
- Categorize extracted content by policy area (federal vs. state, regulatory vs. voluntary)
- Identify key insights that directly address policymaker concerns raised in the meeting
- Highlight technical recommendations that can be translated into policy language
- Note expert opinions and consensus points from workshop participants
4. Expert Coordination
- Brief Naveen (primary AI workshop driver) on policy brief objectives and timeline
- Coordinate availability for 30-minute consultation at August 19 meeting
- Prepare summary materials for expert review prior to meeting
- Consider inviting Asim as additional technical expert if available
5. Deliverable Preparation
- Create structured document with extracted content organized by policy themes
- Provide source references linking back to specific workshop sessions and speakers
- Identify gaps where additional technical input may be needed
- Prepare executive summary of key findings for policy working group review
