Preserve folder structure

Assets that grouped in folders looks nice in the IDE but looks messy in file explorer because it just throw all of it in a single folder.

We can't do that because it would create hundreds of git merge conflicts anytime someone moved the tree around, and would also make tracking changed source files almost impossible.

probably a bad idea, but would it be possible to have it use folder names in the filename or would that also break it?

I would have two comments to make here.
Firstly, the most obvious way to implement this would be to specify the directory structure in index.yyd. I think this might even be forwards compatible to a certain extent.
Second, I feel that @omicronrex is vastly overestimating how often normal people move core files around in a project, and is also forgetting that every other project format is set up this way.

It's not a high priority, but I don't want to flat out decline this without thinking about it.

So basically use the index as a tree then. I think i've come up with a similar idea a long time ago.

I would have fork and implement this for my own project if this was written in C/C++. Unfortunately, this is Rust which I don't know about.
