Should we implement an offline mode based on local storage ?

Personnally, I'd like a mode so that I can download the full list of articles before entering the subway, read them / tag them as I want in the subway and have them sync when I get back to the surface :)

But that's only a temporary offline mode. Any other use cases ? Pros ? Cons ?

Clearly, offline reading while commuting is one of my major use cases.
So I'd be glad to get a little bit more power on what is locally stored than just loading the page and do nothing. It could be nice to be able to mark as read so articles disappear from index without requiring data connection for example.
