Critical Boot Failure Issue

Problem Description

  • Working: Target 2207 programs and updates successfully to 2230
  • Failing: Direct programming of target 2230 results in boot failure on eink board
  • Impact: Critical - prevents deployment of latest builds

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Take eink board running target 2207
  2. Update successfully to target 2230 (works fine)
  3. OR: Program target 2230 directly to eink board
  4. Result: Board fails to boot when target 2230 is programmed directly

Expected Behavior

Target 2230 should boot successfully when programmed directly to eink board, just as it does when updated from 2207.

Environment

Priority

🚨 CRITICAL - Blocks deployment of latest builds

Investigation Needed

  • Compare bootloader/kernel differences between 2207 and 2230
  • Check if there are breaking changes in device tree or kernel configuration
  • Verify if this is related to recent XM125 or other BSP changes
  • Test if the issue affects other boards or is specific to eink

Workaround

Currently using update path from 2207 → 2230 as workaround.
