Hello, thanks for such a powerful music player, which is licensed under the GNU GPL version 2. Thank you so much!

Added a music player to my website about free software in Russian (link).

I am not a specialist in the field of translation, and there is very little free time, but still I would like to help translate it into Russian. Can you send strings in txt format?

Thank you!

I can't send you the strings in txt format, but you can still contribute, if you want. The multi-language system in Nemp is based on gnuGetText using so-called .po-Files (or .pot). You can edit these with software like poEdit, https://poedit.net/download .

The original strings should be stored in the file "default.pot" within the src-directory. Open it with poEdit and start translating. After saving, a .mo-file is created. That's the one Nemp needs.
For testing your translation, create new folders in bin\Languages (not sure about the language-code for russian, sub-folders like in \de), copy the .mo file there, restart Nemp and select the new language from the menu.

Be aware of placeholders in the strings like %d and %s. These are replaced with numbers (or strings), and must appear in the translation in the same order and quantity.

Got it, try to translate. I am not a professional, but this will be the first step.

I have a question. Some lines are longer in length than they can fit. I can’t determine which ones need to be shortened. Maybe you tell me a solution to the problem?

Sadly, there is no real satisfying solution to this problem. I have the same issue with the german localisation as well. ;-)

  • Some Labels (like all the checkboxes in the settings dialog) will be adjusted to the needed size automatically, as long as the text fits into one line.
  • Some longer text-labels with line breaks (like the descriptions in the progress window while updating the library) have a little buffer, so that a little bit more (~1 line) of text will still fit. (This is, because german texts are usually longer than english ones)
  • Texts for Message-Boxes should be no problem
  • If texts for buttons (like "ok", "cancel", "apply" or "Activate server") are too long for the button, you need to choose a different translation.

I translated, and even slipped the translation file into my Nemp and adjusted some points. In general, I am not a professional and my interest is to make as much high-quality free software as possible in Russian. My site is about this, so I often help translate into Russian. I hope that thanks to the translation, new users will appear and they will make it better.

I attach the translation files. When to wait for a release with Russian? I need to make a note on the site that the program is in Russian.

Wow, that was fast, nice work! I'll have a look into it. At first sight I discovered some controls that are too short, I will try to correct that in the code (by adjusting the GUI elements a little bit). It seems that in many cases Russian needs even more space than the German language ... interesting fact.

Thanks for your work, which I really appreciate!

So ... Version 4.12.2b has been released just now. I did not increase the patch-number to 3, as there are no real bugfixes included - just a few adjustments to the GUI (but there are still several elements that do not really fit). I'll try to fix that in the next regular update, but I do not want to make all the work twice (merging with the current development branch is not that easy in this case ...) ;-)

Btw.: do you want to be mentioned in the credits somehow? Or at least in a readme file in the Languages directory? (I have to ask someone else for the dutch translation as well ... )

And you can write that it was not a specific person who helped translate, but the site team. The only problem is that the site name is spelled in Russian (КонтинентСвободы.рф).

And thanks for the Russian version, I marked it on my site and changed the screenshot. Everything works like.
