What problem does this address?

When this is released, it will allow to replace a full page template - to another template.
So for example now we provide template variations for Single and Archive pages, but it's quite complicated to changed those.

The upcoming feature mentioned above, should make things much more easier. But probably will need some code adjustments.

What is your proposed solution?

@mghenciu This is a great catch actually, and it might also prove to be useful for an onboarding wizard (if the mechanism to replace an existing template is there).

We should keep an eye on this. Thanks Mihai!
