Note search on android has not been working normally for the last two years
I use different phones. Right now – Android 13 .
When searching, the text in the note is highlighted. But if the note is long, you can’t go to it.
you have to scroll through the note with your hands to find the highlighted text. when you click on the arrow at the bottom, the transition to the text does not occur
I experience a similar thing in the iPadOS Simplenote app. I search for a word, and open one of the search results. The note opens, positioned many lines (20 or 30) past the word. I have to scroll back to find the highlighted word. If the note contains multiple instances, I can use the arrow buttons (<>) to move to the next instance (correctly), then back to the first instance. This happens even in a small file (700 words). If has been like this for quite a while (years).
I’ve noticed a possibly related issue when opening an existing note. If the note has a mixture of normal lines and very short lines, each broken by a new line, the note opens much farther down the file than its last position. The saved entry point position is misinterpreted somehow. Could this positioning error be related to what happens with search? Maybe. Searching in that file opens at the end, after all occurrences of the search term. Tapping (>) takes me up to the second occurrence, then (<) takes me farther up to the first occurrence.
Expected
The search functionality should highlight the correct words when opening a note containing those terms.
Observed
When you search for more than one term, the words highlighted aren't related to the search terms.
