Describe the bug
When adding the Homepage Posts block in a page/post you can't write a header without first making it bold or italic.

To Reproduce
Step 1. edit or add new page/post.
Step 2. Add the Homepage Posts block.
Step 3. Try and write a header.

The issues started after the Wordpress 6.4 and 6.4.1 releases.

Thanks for filing this issue, @deLisle!

I have a couple questions to make sure I'm trying to reproduce this correctly:

  1. Is the issue happening with this part of the block?

image

  1. Can you please share what browser/version you're seeing the problem with?

  2. Does it persist when other plugins are deactivated?

Any additional information will be helpful! I haven't been able to reproduce this, but it's very possible I'm missing a step. Thank you!

Hi,

  1. Yes that is correct.
  2. I've tried it in Google Chrome 119 and i've also now tried it in Firefox 119. And i can now report that in Firefox it works as it should. So it looks like it's browser related.
  3. See number 2 :)

I wonder what Google has done to create this issue...

Thanks @deLisle! I still haven't been able to replicate this, but still trying!

For number three I wasn't very clear: does the issue persist when you disable other WordPress plugins?

And a follow up question for number two: can you also please share the operating system and version you're using.

Thanks!

I've also moved this issue to our Newspack Blocks plugin repo, just to make sure it's with the related code 🙂

Thank you for this, as of Chrome 120 this issue still persists. I will try Safari and Firefox and earlier versions of Chrome. I also believe this to be a browser issue. It doesn't happen on all Newspack installs either.

Typing in the headers works on the same sites in Safari and Firefox. Also, existing headers can be edited in Chrome.
