[BUG] - Enable Network Discovery Services doesnt work #1285

  • I am on the latest version of Atlas, and didn't do an unsupported upgrade

Description

when running Enable Network Discovery Services (default).cmd i get an error 0x800f080c for SmbDirect

Steps to reproduce

i just ran the Enable Network Discovery Services (default).cmd and it gave me the error tryed admin and no admin

Expected behavior

i expected it to work like the guide said

Actual behavior

throws an error and nothing

I understand the error being misleading, SMB Direct is not an essential feature and is mainly used for server applications. I believe network discovery should still be functional despite the error, I will look into this.

I also have the same issue and have gone through everything people have said and still can not add an smb share.

Having the same issue, have tried every troubleshooting step I can find and still cannot connect to SMB share or use RDC.

Getting the same "SmbDirect is unkown" error.
