Bug Report

Current Behaviour:

When I go to launch Amulet, a command prompt with only the line "INFO - PyMCTranslate Version 317" and blank "Amulet V0.10.39" window show up. Even after waiting a while, nothing else happens.

Expected behavior:

The program to launch normally.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Go to local Amulet directory
  2. Open amulet_app.exe
  3. Command prompt with only the line "INFO - PyMCTranslate Version 317" and blank "Amulet V0.10.39" window show up

Environment:

  • OS: Windows 10 x64
  • Minecraft Platform: Java
  • Minecraft Version: 1.20.1
  • Amulet Version: v0.10.39

Additional context

From my earlier v0.10.37 bug report: "This problem appeared suddenly after the program had functioned normally for a year. I tried updating to the latest version but the result was the same."

I was able to temporarily fix the issue on v0.10.37 by launching the program via command prompt. However, after a while the issue resumed and I haven't been able to launch Amulet successfully since. Updating to the newest version didn't fix things either. I'm kind of pulling my hair out here as a long time user of McEdit and later Amulet as my maps partially depend on external map editing. It shouldn't be an issue with graphics drivers, as I've kept mine updated to the latest versions. As far as I know, nothing changed on my PC recently that would cause this.

I have the exact same issue. It worked fine and now out of nowhere i cant get past that message. Tried an older version, run as admin, move to a simple path and so on, nothing seems to work.

If you hover over the Amulet icon at the bottom of the screen does it show one or two windows?

There were two windows, first being the command prompt and the second the supposed UI that was just blank and wouldn't show up on screen when clicked.

But I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 recently and the program appears to be working normally again. It did work occasionally before the upgrade as well, as for why it did so remains a mystery I guess.
